Slash commands

Quick reference for in-chat slash commands in Mind CLI

Overview

Slash commands are special commands you can use within an interactive chat session to quickly perform actions without leaving the conversation. They start with a forward slash (/) and provide shortcuts for common tasks.

Using slash commands

Slash commands are available in interactive chat mode:

mind chat
> /help

Available commands

/help

Switch to the Help Agent to ask questions about Mind CLI features.

/quit

Exit the interactive chat session. Aliases: /exit, /q.

/clear

Clear the current conversation display history.

/context

Manage context files and view token usage: /context show, /context add "pattern", /context remove <path>, /context clear.

Rules live in .mind/context.json, so they travel with the project. Matched files are re-read at the start of every turn, and capped at roughly 30,000 estimated tokens — past that, whole files are left out rather than truncated, and /context names them.

/model

Select an AI model or set default: /model set-current-as-default.

/agent

Manage agents: /agent list, /agent create <name>, /agent swap <name>.

/effort

Set reasoning effort level (low, medium, high, xhigh, max).

/rewind

Fork conversation at an earlier turn to explore a different path.

/spawn

Run a parallel agent session with an isolated task.

/tools

View and reset permissions: /tools reset clears all runtime permissions.

/mcp

View MCP servers and registry status.

/theme

Switch the colour palette — dark, light, safe, or system. Applies on restart.
